In 2026, Social Security payments are distributed based on birthdate: 1st–10th on the second Wednesday, 11th–20th on the third Wednesday, and 21st–31st on the fourth Wednesday. SSI payments occur on the first of each month. Payments due on federal holidays are made the preceding business day. The 2026 COLA is 2.8%, increasing average benefits by about $56 monthly, but Medicare Part B premium hikes reduce net gains.
