Medicare drug price negotiations starting January 2026 are expected to cut seniors' out-of-pocket costs by about half for 10 high-cost medications treating conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. In five states with high enrollment, monthly costs for most drugs will drop below $100, easing budgets for retirees on fixed incomes. Additional negotiated price reductions for 15 more drugs, including diabetes treatments, will take effect in 2027, saving beneficiaries millions.
